Honestly, it’s my favorite ever.
Its oil control powers are pretty weak, but frankly if I were waiting for something that could mattify my skin I’d be here waiting for the magical laser of oil zapping and skin perfection until the sun went cold. Once I layer it with Mattify Cosmetics’ Ultra powder before and after I get only minimal shine.
I am very, very pale and very, very pink where I’m not pale. This works to reduce the pink tones down to a level of blushiness rather than “wow your face is red”. You can adjust it between light and medium coverage depending on how much you apply, but more than that is not really happening. I definitely need concealer for my undereye circles and any zits that pop up.
It actually reduces the amount of zits I get, I’ve found. When I switched over to it I went from getting a few once a month to sometimes missing that entirely.
At first it looks a bit weird, I think. It comes out with a weird white tone, but by the time I’ve finished blending it in, it looks very natural. I’ve had very observant people not realize I was wearing makeup with it on.
I’ve been using this bb cream for the past coupe months now and I love it! I have very dry and acne prone skin that is EXTREMELY fair. I’m always the lightest shade in anything and I find this bb cream suits my skin tone pretty well. When applied indoors it matched my skin perfectly and looked flawless but when I applied it by my window it had a slight pinkish undertone that I hadn’t noticed before. As it oxidized it became a little less noticeable but I still find when I’m outside it had the slightest pink undertone. I love it for its coverage, It has medium-full and I can usually get away with using it as a concealer for my blemishes. The consistency of it is thick so in order to get good coverage without using too much product I would recommend using a silicone type primer so it just glides across the skin. It has a dewy finish that makes my skin glow and look amazing! I can’t say it’s cleared up my skin or improved it noticeably but it definitely has not broken me out or had any negative effects on my skin. The smell of it is slightly herbally or a scent that may be familiar for people who use a lot of products that are suppose to helps with acne. It’s a very light smell and I like it but it goes away quickly anyway. It’s 40mL, a little shorter than my iPhone, and is about two inches wide. I really love this product and I’m sure I’ll be repurchasing.
QUICK OVERVIEW
-dewy
-for fair skin (has slight pink undertones)
-medium-full coverage
-herbally smell
-thick consistency (use silicone primer)
As the first bb cream I have tried, I must say it lives up to what bb cream is famous for. The coverage perfectly covers breakouts when they first start but pimples need concealer too. If you want the dewey look instead of matte or have a hard time blending, just apply moisturizer before the bb cream. This is especially necessary if you have dry patches on your face because the bb cream can make them stand out. The smell did put me off a bit at first but after a week or two I got used to it. The oil control does seem to work for around four hours for me, until my nose gets shiny again. When you first apply it, the cream does have a pinkish tint to it but after about thirty minutes at the most, it matches perfectly to my fair skin. During the time i have worn the bb cream, my skin has looked better than it ever did with powder foundation and no one has ever asked if I was wearing makeup.
Due to its pinkish nature, I wouldn’t recommend this product for people with tanner skin tones. I would recommend this for people with more acne prone skin who have trouble with getting clear skin. If you have fairly normal skin I would suggest to try a cheaper bb cream first,as this is at least twice the price as some other bb creams. This is definitely the perfect cheat if you can’t seem to control breakouts when they first start.
I bought this because I was sold on its oil controlling qualities. Now I have REALLY oily skin and I haven’t found an online tutorial/reviewer who has more oily skin than I. A lot of people say they have oily skin but they seriously don’t know the meaning of oily skin unless they are me.
So this definitely does not control oil. It makes my face look ghostly and greyish and it is so darn hard to put on because it is super thick. I had to mix it with a lotion for a while but realized that it also doesn’t work that well that way either.
I still get super oily after a while so oil control is not that great. I’m not too in love with the medicinal smell either. It also makes it look like there’s stuff in my pores (that need to be squeezed out). Many BB Creams do this, and I think it’s the fact that I didn’t put on a base. But for this one it doesn’t help that much to put on a base either.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend buying this especially if you have super oily skin like me.
I would say this is one of the best BB Cream I’ve ever tried! Its price on the official website is a little pricy; therefore, I usually buy it off a Korean seller on Ebay.
BB Cream usually don’t provide much coverage, but this one does! I’m seriously a super greasy person and I must give credit to this item for controlling my oil and sebum. I usually apply pressed powder after the BB Cream, that’s why I need the BB Cream to dry quick so it doesn’t smudge all together and look cakey and this does it all. Some downside is that this BB Cream doesn’t smell too good. It has that strong medication smell to it, unlike Missha, which has like a Baby Johnson smelling to it. I guess because this product is used to treat troubled skin (acne) that’s why.
i’ve been using this product for two months now.and i can clearly say that this doesnt live up to its claims.i hated the feel when applied to skin. it leaves a rather heavy weight after applying and it easily makes my face oily.i live in a humid country and brtc doesnt last long unlike what others are saying. now im stuck with this product until the whole tube is empty.lol! i also have baviphat, missha and etude.its easier to blend compared to etude but the lasting power and coverage is a downer.i used to recommend this product a few days after iv used it.but now? NEVER!
This is my very first BB Cream. I read through all the reviews about all the famous BB Cream, but I found this one interesting because it caters for blemish skin.
I don’t fancy the medicinal smell but it simply go away after few minutes. But, it does blend well with my skin and doesn’t look fake, at all.
What I like about BRTC is the texture and coverage. And it also does a very good job on oil control. I have a combination skin, so my forehead, nose and chin simply will go shiny during hot days. And, a BB Cream or foundation with oil control would be a bonus for me!
This is my first so there’s no camparison. But, I would love to try other brands and compare…but BRTC is very good for those with problem skin.
This is the first BB cream I have used and so I did not have a comparison. Since then I have tried Skinfood Peach sake
BRTC is very light and has a medicinal smell to it that will go away. It has a bit of a beige look to it that covers some redness and ruddyness but it definitely gives you a matte look. You NEED to wear moisturizer under it. It is quite thick. The coverage is good but you might need to layer on more to blemishes or use a concealer. The high spf is a GREAT bonus.
To compare it to SkindFoods peah sake- I like it but I like skinfood better. BRTC is thick and looks a bit unnatural. It is easy to blend with the fingers but you have to make sure your skin is moist. I use a moisturizer with some reflecting beads and it makes the BRTC look much better because it gives you a kind of matte/monotone look.
Oil control is alright but nothing very noticeable.
Awesome bb cream. It’s the first one I’ve tried and I love it! I have very bad acne combination skin but this bb cream is amazing. The coverage is good and although it’s thick, it spreads quite easily. You only need a little drop to cover your entire face. It’s not very good with oil control, however it does help make your skintone look even and covers up flaws very well. So although this bb cream is quite expensive it’s well worth it. It lasts a long time. Overall, I would buy this again.
it spreads on evenly.. great coverage!! silky finish.. help fights wrinkles, acne.. has spf ALL IN ONE!! what more can you ask for??.. this is the deal here for trouble acne skin issues!! it’s worth it.. great price for an amazing products!! BRTC blemish recovering blam $25+ dollars, perfect skin PRICELESS!!
BRTC blemish recover balm provides light to medium coverage. So, this is definitely perfect for everyday use. The texture however is quite thick. I found it a lot easier to blend when I prep my skin with a good moisturizer before hand. I have oily/combination skin so oil control is definitely a major issue. This bb cream performs superbly in terms of oil control. I usually only blot once or twice per day during warmer months and hardly any during winter season. It also has a tea tree oil sorts of scent. It might put some people off at first, but the scent goes away instantly so it shouldn’t be much of a problem. What I don’t like about this bb cream is that, it has a pink under tone which is to my surprise. Plus, if put on too much, it will make your skin looks way too pale. I am somewhere between NC25-30, and I found this bb cream difficult to play with especially when I’m on the run because it takes about an hour or longer for it to adjust to my skin tone. And also, I haven’t seen any improvement to my blemished skin. I still can feel the tiny bumps under my skin that never seem to go away. But then again, perhaps those were due to the recent exam stress.
Overall, I highly recommend this bb cream for anyone especially those concerned with oil control and with lighter skin tone than mine.
Cheers.
This is my first BB cream.
The smell is fresh, isn’t very strong and fades fast. I like it but I’m sure it separates people in two camps. Texture is perfect, not watery nor too thick. Easy to apply. Needs many layers before starts to look cakey.
I had high expectations for the oil control and ability to cover redness. This product does even out little flaws and therefor make red areas less visible. Can’t cover strong redness, I’m sure of it. Haven’t noticed any effect on blemishes, covers them but that’s all.
There is some kind of oil control but it doesn’t work as well as I hoped. I have mixed skin: oily T-zone and normal elsewhere. The finishing isn’t matte which is quite surprising in a product intended to oily skin! And it does let some oiliness push through, though the good part is that the cream won’t go messy on oily areas like some foundations I’ve tried used to do. Patting oily areas with a tissue will do, no need to powder.
I’m Scandinavian, my skintone is quite fair and yellow based, slightly olive toned. This looks natural on my face even thought it’s a bit dark compared to my neck. There’s SPF 28 which is very delighting as I bought this to replace my usual makeup base products for the summer.
In short: BRTC Blemish Recover Balm lives up to my needs. Evens out slight redness which makes shiny nose easier to bear. I gave overall rating of four stars because this just isn’t The Perfect Product that would be worth five stars.
I would buy this again; price is reasonable (approx. €22/$28 of 40 ml). Wouldn’t recommend this to oily skin since this is clearly to less troubled mixed skin and normal skin.
I have used this for just under a month now – I have tried it on its own with a layer of mineral or loose powder on top, and I have also tried it with a makeup base. I’m really disappointed with the BB cream for it did not live up to its hype.
This cream is often promoted as a great blemish balm to reduce acne. I don’t know if it’s just exam stress, but I see no difference in my skin condition. My skin is still dry with oily T-zone, with acne mostly around the nose and forehead, and I find that the cream can even clog my pores at times.
The oil control is just as bad as my usual foundation (Estee Lauder Double Long Wear foundation, if you’re interested), but it oxidises quicker.
Colour of this BB cream is strange – it comes out of the bottle in a pale, greyish beige. I’m a relatively pale Asian and this colour is way too grey AND pale for me. The greyness does disappear after some time, but it gives me an unnatural (very obvious you have makeup on), pallor look.
However, for oily/combination skin peeps, the matte finish is great. It doesn’t wind up looking too dry, but not too dewy either.
Coverage is average – it will cover up anything less obvious than a pimple. (Pimples will need concealer, which kind of aggravates acne and defies the whole purpose of using a blemish balm.) It’s definitely buildable, but because of the thick consistency and colour, the result is that you look like you have too much makeup on. Also, because it’s grey-tinted cream, it’s not good for concealing dark circles.
The thickness of the cream doesn’t bother me a lot, but because it’s harder to apply to your face, you might end up rubbing too hard/applying a little more than you need.
This blemish balm gives off a tea tree oil scent. It’s not overpowering and will disappear when your cream dries.
Sorry for the TL;DR, but in conclusion – I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. It’s very costly for a small bottle that won’t meet my needs and match my colour. (For this price you can get the same amount of high end foundation that will cover and blend better, probably.)
I’ve been using this bb cream for about three months right now.
I’m very glad that I made the right choice since this is my first bb cream
My skin type is oily by the way.
The shade is light and blend well on my skin,
The texture is thick and have a medium coverage but still looks very natural,
Doesn’t cakey (Love this!)
The oil control is very good
No breakout
This BB cream really worth to buy for those who has oily n blemished skin
very recommended
but one thing i don’t like: no dewy look

I think I should use a highliter to make my skin glow
but overall i love this bb cream much
