In my long and winding search for the almost perfect BB cream for my troubled skin and imperfect face..I came across Dr.Jart’s Silver Label BB cream. It’s my 3rd day use of this BB product and my first time for Dr.Jart’s brand.
What I have is not the regular bottle but a 5ml sample I got online. My skin is not perfect–blemishes, pimples, acne scar, oil, and lot’s of trouble. Living in a humid and tropical country, my skin is not white nor tan..a lighter brown I guess.
The COVERAGE of this BB cream is like medium-to-full. It almost covers my acne scars and totally hides my blemishes. At first few hours, my skin is almost perfect. Just enough sheer for that matte glow. Somehow, I used it along with a highlighter so that I get a glowy skin. But as the day goes on, I need some retouch or powder my face because it’s like the cream wont last long.
What I like is the TEXTURE of this bb cream. It easily blends well when applied. It’s not that watery nor sticky. I only need a small amount to cover my entire face. Good thing is, this cream wont cake or mess up with my skin. Very smooth and velvety as if I’m not wearing any product at all.
One problem is, the OIL CONTROL. Really not good specially if your living in a tropical country were the weather is always hot!! My face becomes oily after a few hours.. It’s not a big deal since my face is always oily. But compared to other products, I only powder like 3 times a day with this product and more than 5 times with other brands.
If you ask me about the SMELL..there’s nothing significant to tell. No special smell. It actually smells plain. Not harsh nor sweet just fine.
I will continue to use this product until I consumed the sample tube and decide if I’m gonna purchase the regular size one. All-in-all, this is actually a good brand compared to the other brands I’ve tried. Maybe it’s not really that impressive as of now. This is also a bit pricey but I believe you need to invest in a good product because this is your skin that your feeding on.
PROs about this BB cream:
-SPF 35 PA++ really helps protect my skin from the sun’s harmful rays! I work in the community and I get too much sun exposure, so with this I feel confident to face the sun.
-PLUS it has whitening, rejuvenating effect that will help my sun damaged skin to whiten..and hopefully lighten my dark spots.
CONs: not so good in OIL CONTROL..but as long as you have a good mineral powder or any powder, Im pretty sure it will blot the oiliness away.
-a bit pricey compared to other brands but Im pretty sure this a good and worthy brand. I’ve learned that they use safe and natural ingredients so your face is pampered well.
Hope this review helps
Hmmmmmm this is my second bb cream, and I am quite disappointed. I am a 14 year old w/ severe acne and extremely oily skin.
The coverage of this bb cream is so-so if you have really bad red and blotchy patches and acne scars, like me. It didn’t do very much to cover my acne scars. It also did not match my skin color, being to yellow for me.
The texture is reeeeaaallllyyyy thick. It is difficult to blend on my skin, and was cakey after a while. It clogged my pores, too.
The oil control is the worst thing. It at first went on very shiny, and just keeps getting shinier through the day. Sad face.
It does not smell like anything to me.
I will not re-purchase, as while I was using this, my white heads got even BIGGER, so yeah, very disappointing. Maybe it would be good for people with good skin already, but its dry and has a yellow undertone.
I have only recently heard about BB creams. I guess I’m behind on the times. I purchased Dr.Jart+ Rejuvenating(silver) label for my first BB cream after extensive research.
I picked Dr.Jart’s specifically for the following reasons. I wanted a heavier coverage BB as I’m in between healing from bad acne. My doctor had prescribed me Bactrim DS which has done wonders, but I’m still left with some red spots, and mismatched tone. I needed some skin healing benefits, and a decent SPF. I had oily skin all summer, but still needed moisture.
I have fair skin, I don’t know what MAC # I am because the last time I went they had a hard time matching me. My last foundation purchase was Lancome tient idiole in the lightest shade they had (which was still too dark for anything but mid-summer).
Dr. Jart BB silver went on thick, almost as thick as my Lancome. Which is amazing because you can spread it thin for medium coverage or dab it on (with a stippling or your fingers) for very heavy coverage. At first I looked like a grey ghost and I thought “Oh no, it looks awful”. My boyfriend even made a comment about me being Casper. So I brushed on a little mineral blush to at least give me some color. After about 10min the color began to morph into my skin color, and matched well. Within 30min I had flawless look, that looked like I was born with perfect skin (YAY!). It was not obvious I was wearing makeup.
As far as concealing, it did wonders on red spots, and OK on yellow spots. However, it only mildly concealed my under eyes (which in my case are very hollow and dark).
It left a dewy (not matte) look, that was not sparkly at all. More of a radiance then a shine. Coverage lasted well. My skin felt well moisturized without being tacky/gummy. It did not begin to congeal within the first few hours like my Lancome did. I would not say it “controlled” oil, but it definitely didn’t break down in it either.
All in all, a very good BB cream for us fair ladies. I was happy to see hyaluronic acid as an ingredient. As I’ve found this to be a wonderful humectant for my skin.
This bb cream is awesome! Oil control is pretty good.. Coverage is awesome and did not cause breakouts! Woopee!!! The only thing that upsets me is the color.. It is pretty light, but I’m ok with it because it will oxidize to match your skin colour minutes after! Overall it’s awesome and better than the black, but I didn’t like how the shade was so light. I highly recoommend this to all people! Texture is smooth and not thick. There is a light smell, but it ought to not bother anyone even if you are sensitive to scents.
This bb cream was really amazing to me.
It is indeed very light in color, but not very much of a gray cast that many may have said this bb cream to have. It is instead just well.. very light in color.
Coverage is excellent. Even when you do not think the coverage is very strong when first applied, a few minutes later, it has adjusted to your skin tone and has covered any unevenness.
The texture is very smooth, a lot easier to blend than other bb creams.
I wore this bb cream during relatively cooler weather and i have dry skin, so i cannot comment on oil control. But i would say that people with oily skin might want to stray because it is very “moisturizing”. Even if your face does not feel oily with it on, even a small amount applied will make it feel like your face is untouchable.
