I’ve just finished a whole cream (with a little help from my sister) and I’m totally ready to give a review about it.
This was my second bb cream, after missha perfect cover.
The coverage was really good, comparable to missha. The bb hides black spots and even bigger breakeauts. For dark circles a concealer was needed.
The colour #2, beige with yellow undertones, was better than pinkish missha #23.
I have combination skin, but this bb didn’t make my skin oily, i think that’s because of its hydrating properties.
The smell was amazing, I liked it. It linger briefly on my skin.
I think I repurchase it some time soon. It was a really good product, but it taked half a year to end a single 40g package.
I have oily skin with pimples. I was looking for something light which would cover some of my imperfections. So I bought this cream IN SHADE #1. I think this BB wasn’t the bad choice.
COVERAGE:
Not that bad to be honest. Compared to my previous BB creams (Lovely Girl and Dream Girls by Skin79) the coverage of Aloe is amazing xD However I’ll give it 3/5. But the texture is just too light to cover more, so I won’t complain about it.
TEXTURE:
I can apply this BB cream really easily.
The colour may look kinda pinkish, but I think it can fit into a skin tone (at least mine and I’m a little bit yellowish AND I’m from middle Europe xD).
Good thing is that I don’t feel it on my face (in contrast to “Lovely Girl”).
OIL CONTROL:
After applying this BB, my face gets shiny in 4-5 hours, but if I use finish powder (also by Skinfood which is AWESOME btw xDDD) my face is not shiny at all.
SMELL:
I LOVE IT SO MUCH, it may be strong, but on your face it disappears in one hour. Smells like food (some fruits or vegetables I’m not sure). I like this strong smell, but I know some people don’t.
OVERALL RATING:
) and then my skin was irritated as hell. Usually the redness stays for a few days on my face BUT I used this BB cream and it reduced this redness in 70%. And yes, I’m serious now. I don’t know how it happened but I was so grateful to this BB xDDD So yeah, 4/5.
4/5. I didn’t expect this BB to be super perfect etc. It does good work in my opinion. I would give it 3/5 BUT it did something amazing to my face. One day I dared to pop my pimples (I’m a baaaaad person
This BB cream is perfect if you need light coverage and if you wanna feel fresh. Great for everyday use.
Now I’m gonna try Missha M Perfect Cover and maybe Skin79 Hot Pink, but I think someday I’ll come back to Skinfood Aloe xD
This bb cream has a light-med coverage for me. It doesn’t hide dark undereyes and old scars are still noticeable. I also noticed that even after I put it on my face I could feel it sitting there on top and it made me aware of it all day. The smell is gorgeous, though I would rather it was unscented.
For me, this BB cream had two major cons, the first is that it oxidises to an orangey colour on me. It goes on nice and perfect and three or so hours later I’m an Oompa Loompa. The second is that I’m pretty sure this broke me out.
i tried this bb cream from sample that is actually a bonus when i ordered a’pieu mineral powder pact..
it took so long for me to try it. cus i already has lioele beyond solution bbc and etude mineral all day strong…
but in the end i tried it though.
i cant believe it!
why i waited so long to try this one!!
i mean, this product is great!
although the coverage is not to well compare to etude. but it didnt make me look sooooo white. i’m using etude #3 the sheer flawless, but it still make me look weirdy white. i’m using #1 on this product and it blended so well.
cus i’m having a sensitive skin so i sometimes being to allert on evry product that i use. This product didn’t make me itchy. it’s fells so good. so light! LOVE IT!
After reading many good reviews about the skinfood aloe vera bb cream, i decided to get it.
The price was good(bought it on ebay for US$11.00) and i’m very satisfied with the product.
The coverage is light to medium. It hides any redness i might get and minimizes my dark circles, but it doesn’t cover major blemishes or acne scars. However, i find that ok, cause i was looking for a bb cream that looked natural and could be used on a daily basis.
The product is a bit difficult to blend, but once it’s blended, it looks and feels like my own skin. It has a dewy finish that makes my skin look very healthy.
It has amazing oil control and at the same time it’s moisturizing enough. I have very dry chin and cheeks and oily nose and it did a great job at controlling the oil on my nose and hydrating the dry patches on my chin.
The smell bothers me a little bit, though. It’s smells strongly like aloe vera(duh!), but it’s something i’ll get used to.
Anyway, this is a great bb cream and i recommend it for those with combination or oily skin. It’s also very cheap for the amount of product you get, so it’s a great option to try as your first bb cream.
I’ve previously used FaceShop’s Clean Face Oil Free, Hanskin, and now this.
I am Asian, with yellow undertone, medium-fair, extreme acne prone and oily-combo skin.
Coverage: It’s very sheer and doesn’t cover large scars or pimples but can even skin tone. It adapts to your face shade very well. It doesn’t look super cakey unless you have dry patches, in that case it can look cakey.
Texture: For such sheer coverage why is the texture SO THICK? It’s like rubbing sunblock cream on my face and it can feel heavy at times. Also, the packaging isn’t the most convenient to use, it can take a bit of effort to squeeze out of the tube.
Oil Control: One of the pros. It controls oil quite well. I still have to regularly blot and still need powder though.
Smell: Great smell. It smells fresh and natural, almost sweet. It’s not too strong either.
I bought this bb cream because it contained aloe and claimed to help heal blemishes, so far I haven’t used it enough to confirm those two.
Apart from that, this is a good bb cream for the summer and if your skin does not have a lot of blemishes.
I highly recommend this for oily skin because the oil control is just absolutely AMAZING! I could have this on my oily/combination skin for hours and my skin would never feel greasy and this bb cream won’t flake either. Definetly a must for the summer.
As for acne prone skin, I would say that this is a good choice in terms of not breaking you out, because I have skin thats very prone to acne and this hasn’t made me break out. Just make sure to wash it off with an effective makeup remover and you’re good
On the other hand, this bb cream’s coverage is light so it will not cover up any major blemishes you have. It will make your skin tone look more even and smoother, but your major blemishes will definetly show through.
The texture is a smooth consistency, but when it’s applied on the skin it doesn’t feel as smooth.
The smell is very nice and refreshing
This is overall a good bb cream if you have oily/combination skin that’s fairly nice with little to no blemishes blemishes and want light coverage.
I have used this bb cream for a few times and it’s great on coverage and doesn’t clot and give me more pimples. It have a nice fragrance. My skin type is combination (oily and dry depending on the temperature and how often I wash my face) and acne prone. I haven’t tried many bb cream (so far three types), I like this one best.
Hello! This is my first BB Cream and I must say, it is better than any other liguid or cream foundation on the market. I have major acne all over my entire top half of myself, including arms and back, so skin is not my best quality. Having a great coverup for my face at least is a necessity, and it must work for me. I do not like heavy coverage, as it looks cakey, so I was using mineral powder only after liquids became to nasty looking toward the end of the day. This controlled my oily skin, minimized pores completely, while lasting all 10 hours of the day and not being too thin or thick in consistency. The color was a tad too pink and dark (im a vampire^.^)for my sheet white skin but with a thin layer of powder, it looks fantastic. It does NOT blend well with fingers, so I would use brushes.
Thanks!:)
I grabbed this BB cream, looking for a cream that would not break me out with a good coverage. My skin is not great, i get occassional pimples and my cheeks are filled with scars ;(. This cream is wonderful! i really like it, it makes my skin BETTER by the end of the day, unlike Missha’s Perfect Cover, but unlike Missha’s perfect cover, it does not cover as well.
COVERAGE- When i first put it on, it covers about everything, but as it sets, my scars tend to come through, i end up putting another layer on my cheeks and finish with light powder because i am pretty self conscious about my cheeks. Bu then again i have a lot of scars. for someone with a few or none it would be great. A GREAT THING about this BB cream is i went swimming and normally i would be afraid of make up coming off, but this BB Cream STAYED ON! i swam for an hour! it was amazing! SPF and Waterproof?!
TEXTURE- Very smooth, feels light and like a lotion, i like that since it doesn’t remind me of make up. The finish is dewy, i reaallyyy like that. Although the color is light for me, i am an asian that does not tan but does not care about whiteness, so im in between, it gives a dewy glowing look instead of a ew thats too light for my face look. It also makes my skin without pimples super smooth, and my scars have been looking better! I want to touch my face all the time, but i have to resist myself!
OIL CONTROL- i would say it is okay, i can’t tell if it is the dewyness or i am oily. I get oily around my nose and forehead, so i dab a little, but there doesn’t seem to be that much oil, which is awesome. The full lasting power of this is about 4-5 hours for me, afterwards i think the oil on my face begins to mess with the cream. I am dry combo, so oil is not too much of an issue for me. The Cream does make my skin feel better though, so i feel it is improving.
SMELL- smells fresh and clean. Like a gentle, i can’t even describe it, leaf? It reminds me of going to the pool or beach, but that might be because of the sunscreen part of it although the sunscreen smell is not prominent, it is more aloey smell. It smells good and is not strong. I like it!
OVERALL i think this BB cream is awesome. I tried Missha’s Perfect cover and others, and although i prefer Missha’s coverage, it broke me out too much and after using skinfood, Missha’s did nothing for my skin. Skinfood has actually made my skin feel better and notice the inflammation of my scars lessen by the end of the day. I have also tried their wash off mask and mushroom bb sample they gave me with my purchase and i love it too! I think i have converted to skinfood products, but i am still on a search for a good coverage, non breaking out bb cream because i don’t want to layer too much “make-up” hope this helped.
Lets just start by saying that I have just started using bb cream.I am from Pakistan & though many Asian brands like Etude or kryolan are available in Pakistan, bb creams are not.Skin foods sun aloe bb cream is the second one i have tries.Forst being the maybelline one.
As far as the coverage goes, for me it is medium.I use a concealer under the eyes and around my nose.I tried this in shade1 but even shade2 is too light for any one who is of a slightly darker complexion.
Blends perfectly, not cakey at all.It is more like a moisturizer.
I have combo oily skin. And since i have started using this , i can seriously say that i havent had “ANY” breakouts.
Smells kind of funky initially(like acne medication) but after a while the smell goes away.
Texture wise it is very water , to an extent that i keep my tube upright so there is not a mess. But absorbs well in skin.
My biggest issue with it is oil control. My T-zone seriously gets oily with this.I moisturize before using it but results still the same.Noe to be fair,if i am indoors, where it is cool, there is no issue. But outside,in this hot summer weather, the oil control is almost nonexistent beyond the first hour & half.
Price wise , i have seen it priced from 17-20 dollars online.I got it at local beauty shop where they only had 3-4 tubes of it(couldn’t believe my luck,as i had to beg my friend to get me the maybelline one , when she went on a trip to Malaysia). It cost me Pkr 275 ,which is like 2$;)
Hope this review was helpful. Thanx for reading:)
This is a great BB cream. It’s the first one I purchased and I would purchase it again. Good coverage, lasts forever, doesn’t make my face greasy or break out. I think my face has been looking better, although I had a minor breakout the past 2 weeks. I would recommend it for sure.
I don’t really notice a smell, so it can’t be unpleasant. Unlike other BB creams you can control how much comes out. I find I actually use a really small amount overall, so it’s definitely worth it. I will be stocking up for when I go back to Canada!
Background of my skin: oily skin with large pores. I am of Chinese heritage. I’ve always had breakouts but this past year has been more controlled because I’ve been using acne lotion.
My skin care routine in the morning: wash my face with St.Ives green tea cleanser, put on 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cream all over face, then I put on Skinfood BB cream.
PROS: Good for sheer coverage, goes on smooth, lasts for 8+ hours for me! good oil control. My face feels SO INCREDIBLY smooth afterwards! And the smoothness lasts so long too! I’m tempted to have all my friends feel the smoothness… but that’s just gross. It also has SPF 20, which is good, because I all my moisturizers only go up to SPF 15 and my foundations only have SPF 15 as well. I also don’t have to apply moisturizer and THEN foundation. One less step and saves time!
CONS: The smell. It smells GREAT, but it’s TOO strong. The smell goes away after 1-2 hours, but it’s a bit overwhelming for me. I’m hoping that I get used to the smell after a week. I have to eat to get rid of the smell (since your smell and taste are linked together in the brain). I feel like I destroyed brain cells already. It would be really nice if they made one WITHOUT fragrance!
Recommend? Yes. But not if you have a sensitive nose.
I have tried the Etude House Magic BB Cream and Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream and I would say that this BB Cream is the most BB Cream that I love and works for me.The Etude House Magoc BB Cream does have a darker tone than by skin and the Etude House Precious BB Cream are too light for me but Skin Food Aloe BB Cream does the perfect tone for me!This BB Cream has a sweet smell which I loved it very much. The smell is calming and it lasts longer too! This BB Cream have the best coverage and it cover most of my blemishes and small bumps. It does not clog my skin and it is feels lighter on my face. This BB Cream suits my oily skin as it lasts longer for the half day.I don’t need to touch up with compact or loose powder coz this does the best! You only have to use a little for this coz the texture is creamy and you can cover half of your face with just a small quantity. It is moisturizing your skin and cover redness on your skin.I realize that my skin becomes more lighter and the redness also reduced!I would say that this is my holy grail and the price are pretty reasonable for a high quality product!I would re-purchase this for sure~!
I am a newbie when it comes to bb cream. I recently moved to Korea and started seeing all the advertisement for it. That got me interested and so I decided to do some research. I really wanted one of Missha’s products but they didn’t have it at the E-mart I went to. Being the impatient person that I am, I had to have something so I found this and away I went.
I am Caucasian with an olive skin tone. I chose shade #23 and it works well for me. As far as coverage goes, it doesn’t do much. Covers ever so slightly but it’s better than nothing. Luckily, I don’t really have problem skin. Texture is creamy but still kind of difficult to spread because it’s more of a matte product. I don’t have too much problem with oily skin so don’t know how it works officially but I do notice that it helps. It smells like Aloe but after a bit I don’t notice it anymore. Does make my face more “lively” if that makes sense. I admit that during the day I like to rub my face because it makes it feel awesome.
Overall, a good product and would recommend buying if looking for something basic.
My skin is combination- fairly oily T-zone and dry/sensitive everywhere else. This is my first BB Cream so I cannot compare to any others. I’ve been using it for about 2 or 3 months now.
This cream has both good and bad points. The good would be that it really evens out the skin tone, covers minor imperfections and gives a nice natural finish. Also it typically lasts about 6 or 7 hours before the effects begin to fade. Oil control is good too and I like the fact it has SPF in it. Some of the things I don’t like about it would be the thick texture, which makes it quite difficult to apply (really got to blend it in) and also the smell isn’t as appealing as some other skin food products. The coverage isn’t great either. Although it gives a nice finish it doesn’t cover or even fade blemishes, nor does it do much to reduce the redness of my cheeks.
As I mentioned my skin is quite sensitive and I do really like how gentle this BB cream is. I have never broken out because of this. This BB cream doesn’t seem to be having any miraculous effects on my skin (that I’ve read bb creams are apparently supposed to!) although it is very moisturising and doesn’t dry my skin out, in fact it leaves it quite soft and smooth.
Overall a nice BB cream and one I’m quite happy with.
BB cream is a product that only recently came into my life. About a year ago, I became interested in Korean cosmetics due to my interest with Korean Ulzzangs. I couldn’t understand how their skin was so pretty and perfect. Then i came across an ulzzang site that mentioned BB creams. Right then i just had to try some, so the Very First BB cream i bought was L’egere White BB cream. It was the BEST foundation/Base I’ve ever used. I’ve never liked the thick feeling or the strong scent that came from drugstore foundations, but L’egere was something completely different. It felt light and smelled nice. It’s Coverage wasn’t perfect, but with some cover up it looked like porcelain. I was in love with this product. What amazed me was how long it lasted on my face, I only had to set it with powder once and it lasted more than eight hours. I have oily skin so usually when foundation starts to oxidize my face becomes very shiny. With L’egere though after it oxidized the color just matched my skin, it didn’t show any sign of over oily-ness. I would recommend this product for people who have an uneven skin tone and want to even it out. It lasts a long time, it doesn’t feel like make up and it has a nice scent. I loved it, I think other BB cream lovers should try it too ^^”
Coverage: It makes my skin look so perfect! Makes pores smaller, smooths skin texture, BUT it does not cover my acne scars =[ I’m okay with that, can’t have everything, but even layering doesn’t do much.
Texture: Creamy. That’s the best description I can think of. I find it thicker than the Missha perfect cover bb cream. It’s not drying or too oily either.
Oil Control: I’m a grease ball but this bb cream holds up pretty well. Still looking for a complete oil control one.
Smell: It’s nice.
Recommend it. Will definitely buy again if i ever finish my other 15 bb creams.
I just purchased this Skinfood BB Cream in shade 01 after trying a sample of it. I really debated on which shade to purchase because I’m not so fair and I have more of a pink undertone, which sounds like a description for shade 02. However, I really liked the shade 01 I tried — it didn’t make me look unnaturally light or dark, just brightened me up.
Overall, I’m really happy with this BB Cream. Some BB creams make me feel oily, but this feels really sheer on and I don’t feel greasy or over moisturized. Coverage is light to medium — however, the effect it has on evening out my skintone makes up for what it lacks in coverage! I think my skin looks brighter and cleaner with the lesser coverage this provides than with the heavier coverage Missha Perfect Cover provides. The color does not oxidize throughout the day, it lasts, and my skin does not get too oily by the end of the day either — a problem I have with other BB cream.
It is scented as other people have mentioned. It slightly bothered me at first because I wasn’t expecting it, but I think I have gotten used to it.
I really like this as a summer BB cream, because it feels so light on, despite the thickness of the BB cream.
i have used the aloe bb cream shade 2 for almost a year, and i really love this bb cream esp after applying, it really brightens up my face giving it a natural healthy look but at the same time as if i am not wearing any makeup at all.And i super duper lurve the smell also, so far i haven came across of any bb cream wif such great smell(:
I’m fair-skinned with moderate acne and sensitive-combination skin. This product was recommended by the lovely lady who works in Brunei’s branch of Skinfood.
I do a lot of outdoor sports so the SPF is a bonus =). This product covers up extremely well, especially if your skin has decided to go blotchy or dull. The fragrance is fresh and pleasant,it did not irritate my skin and that I’m grateful for. The texture comes between bit watery but also creamy. You don’t need to put much as it is super-blend able and versatile. It works very well as a base make-up or just as it is (the tint is actually enough without foundation over). My skin looks dewy, matted and natural after I use it.
However, after a few hours, this may be due to my skin being a combination (oily/dry/sensitive), my skin felt a little bit oily and I had to blot a lot. But it does not stop me from using this. It is definitely very good (apart from the being oily after a few hours)and it heals my skin slowly but effectively =)
For my first BB cream, I had specific criteria in mind. I am Caucasian and have extremely fair skin. (I am a Mac NC15) My skin is also sensitive and healing from a bad breakout. I needed something that wouldn’t exacerbate my acne, but would cover my red/dark marks and under eye circles.
I purchased Skinfood Aloe in shade 1, and am rather happy with the results so far.
The first thing you notice when you open the tube is the smell. It’s quite a strong “sweet and fresh” smell, but not unpleasant at all. Usually I avoid products with heavy perfumes because of potential allergies, but after several uses my skin has not reacted badly. The smell also wears off, so it won’t be a headache all day.
The coverage is very nice. It can be difficult to blend on dry skin, but extra dabs make a great concealer for red spots. Unfortunately, this cream is about a shade too dark for me, but I’ve found a solution to that at the end of my post.
The texture is quite smooth and thick, great for oil absorption. I’ve never had huge trouble with excess oil, but it doesn’t leave my face feeling sticky, which is great. I’m from Canada, so the weather here is often cold and humid. Make-up tends to turn kinda waxy when worn for a long time, as opposed to the hot and humid climates.
Overall I’m pleased with my purchase, and aside from not quite matching the colour, I am happy with the properties of this cream.
Laura’s personal BB cream regimen:
I’m not a huge make-up wearer. I don’t pile on primer, foundation and translucent powder for that airbrushed look. I tend to just try and keep my skin as nice as possible so I don’t have to wear as much make-up in the first place.
As I said, i don’t quite match the shade, and the cream can be difficult to spread on dry skin. My routine is that after I wash my face and it’s still wet/moist, I apply moisturizer. Then I mix this BB cream in the palm of my hand with a sunscreen containing titanium dioxide to lighten it up a bit. (I use Avene’s Redness Relief Soothing Cream for Sensitive Skin) You get the added bonus of extra sun protection with great coverage. Smooth this over the moisturizer and then dab unmixed BB cream over red spots to conceal. My skin is nice and moisturized all day. I might not recommend this for those with lots of oil problems, but for dryer skin, it’s great!
I think this is my favorite BB Cream so far! I got it in #2 natural and it matches with my skin tone perfectly (NC25)! Very bright but still very natural
It’s a little difficult to spread unlike Missha Perfect cover but it doesn’t leave a greasy feel after and absorbs really easily. I feel my skin has improved since using this, i stopped breaking out as much.
The oil control is okay, lasts 5-6 hours before i need to blot and i use it with The Face Shop make-up base and Laneige satin finish loose powder.
Coverage is sheer but it covers redness. You could combine it with other bb creams or foundations to get more coverage.
I like the smell alot! It didn’t give me any irritation.
This stuff is amazing! Smells great, glides right on and don’t need a big amount!
My skin has improved so much since using this product. Not to oily or heavy on my skin and last all day when I apply a primer. Keeps my skin looking healthy too.
The coverage is pretty good, compared to others with the same weight.
Love it!
I bought this BB cream after hearing good things about it!
At first it really looked like my foundation [i bought shade #2] but right after i squeezed it out of the tube i knew it would be different. I quite like the texture actually,it was really creamy and you really had to spread it in yourself- it felt like i was putting on a layer of ‘new skin’. It has visibly reduced redness, but there are still some odd spots here or there [mainly acne bumps]. The smell is unique, I like it actually, I get to smell good and feel good at the same time. Ive been using this for two weeks and I HAVE seen SOME improvement in my skin- I think it’s too early to tell though. This BB ceam is really a confidence booster- I put mine on at 6am this morning and now it’s almost 5pm and I’m still not too oily, I havent reapplied at all.
I think this BB cream is a real confidence booster for beginners with their first BB cream- Ive been working late for school havent been putting on makeup, but this BB cream just my skin looks healthy and fantastic.
Atlhough this BB cream has shown some good effects on my skin, I would still recommend users to stick with their regular cleansing regime. This is a good complement to your normal regime, and should be a base to your make up, not a lazy way out of keeping clean.
It’ too early to tell.
Overall, Ive put this BB cream on under Smashbox Primer and it hasn’t given me any trouble at all! The acne scars, I’m not so sure yet though
The other downside to this is that I definitely have to use a lot out of this one. I have to squeeze at least five or six tims before i can cove my whole face. this cream is THICK! But it’s not bad for my money’s worth!
This was my first BB cream. I bought it after reading good reviews, so I thought it would be a safe option as my first.
It fits my skin type well because the oil control is amazing! My skin is combo/oily so usually I have to blot when I’m wearing other make-up, but this cream doesn’t make my skin oily at all!
The colour I got is #1 which is pretty light, although it makes your skin look bright and fresh even if your skin is a little dark. It ends up looking natural and nice even at the end of the day. On a plus, my friends mentioned that my skin felt smooth
The coverage is OK on my skin, it’s a little sheer. The BB cream hides redness pretty well, but it doesn’t do so well on bumpy/acne areas. Overall, it makes my skin pretty even, but the coverage is less then I expected compared to other creams I’ve tried.
The smell is strong, it smells like those plain soap bars. You get used to the smell after a while, but it’s suprising at first. The texture is thick! It doesn’t spread too easily which is disappointing because then you have to use more of the product.
This BB cream is good for oily skin or in the summer, if you don’t need too much coverage. I reccommend this BB cream for people who are starting to buy BB creams! It’s a safe option to see what sort of BB creams suit you, and you will most likely be happy with purchasing this.
