The Vanilla Sky Make Up Base from Nature Republic contains polynesian lagoon water to moisturize your skin. Being a make up base it is designed to cover and smooth out imperfections for a slicker look.
Honestly, in the beginning when i purchase this, i didn’t really fancy this product, or actually, didn’t really fancy using make up base at all. The thing is, my last experience using make up base (i think it’s from Elianto) was a disaster. I loathed make up base from that on. It sort of produce this… Hmm… How to say… Ashes of dirt? Something like that… And I am so very sure my face is not at all dirty!
So anyway, when i was shopping at Nature Republic, the SA recommended me their Vanilla Sky Make Up Base. So naturally, i didn’t want to try it. Then the SA said something about it’s better to use make up base and all the way to me buying it. And since i bought it, why not use it?
Surprise, surprise. I love this product since my very first application. When i was at the store, there was two shade and the SA gave me the one which is in light pink. The other is for much fairer skin. I don’t have dark skin but i do have yellowish dull looking skin without make up. So i think, the SA gave me the correct one. I gave this product a 5/5 for coverage, though i don’t think coverage is the correct term for make up base, anyway it does correct my skin color. Since I’m Asian, so the light pink color was perfect for me.
Then to the texture. Hmmm… It’s not runny and not very creamy. I think, in my opinion, it’s just right for a make up base.
As for oil control, i gave a medium because, frankly, at the end, my face was still oily. I still had to blot my face. But I didn’t reapply my make up on, I’m a lazy kind of person =) But, really, i don’t feel that i need to reapply my make up.
On the other hand, i love how this product smell. You know sometimes, they have this cosmetic smell which stink (like my previous one, which i mention was a disaster)? This one don’t! I particularly love the smell. Sort of like a flower scent. Rose? Somewhere there.
And another thing, Nature Republic proud themselves with what they call MD. Don’t know really what it means. With this product, they have this Polynesia lagoon water. And let’s face it, i can’t really read the description of the product behind because it’s in Korean. But i do know it has something to do with hydration
