So, my friend recommended this product to me a few months back, and I hesitated to grab it. . . . It was the biggest mistake ever! This product is amazing, it reduced my redness and acne flares by at least half since I’ve started to use it. This is a very good drugstore brand item, and I would suggest anyone to use it. I have combo-oily skin around the t-zone, and normal ish cheeks. I have Asian skintone, and am rather fair.

    Coverage(4/5:
Sure, this won’t exactly cover your entire face with a tiny amount, but its a scrub, so cut it some slack! I usually use a bean-size amount, and that will cover my entire face. This stuff, you don’t need a lot of it for it to work, so definitely, pretty good for a drugstore brand. It also feels very light on your skin.

    Texture(5/5):
My favourite part about this is that you can use this scrub everyday and not have to worry about killing your skin! Normal scrubs have rather big and chunky abrasives that will tear your face apart, but since this the particles in this are so fine, you can use it everyday! It also applies very smoothly, and your skin feels nice and soft after you wash it off, and not sore or hurting, which is a huge plus! I also think that some sensitive skinned people might find this nice, because this is very gentle and mild.

    Oil-Control(4/5):
I believe this product is oil free, but I don’t believe that it claims to control oil secretion and stuff like that. Well, I personally don’t use it for that reason because my face isn’t that oily, but also my cleanser takes off any oil I have on my face anyways. So, I suppose if you wanted an oil-free product, this is good, but for a solely oil-control product, this might not be for you.

    Smell(5/5):
Another one of my favourite parts about this cleanser! It smells so yummy and good! Its like a light green tea smell that fits right in with my body wash and lotion, so I really like it. Even if you don’t it will wear off after a few minutes, but it just leaves a subtle hint of smell, like a fresh, clean smell. Awesome~!

    Comments:
I love this scrub simple because you can use it everyday and not tear apart your skin. I’ve been using it everyday now for a good couple months, and I’m finally nearing the end of the tube. I’ll definitely be grabbing some more of this stuff after I finish my other St. Ives product (their anti-blemish award-winning apricot scrub which is also I highly recommend). Especially with the price, it’s a total steal!

I LOVE this product. I could rave about it all day, but I’ll shorten it and also include some pros and cons.

Coverage: Good. I usually squeeze out a nickel size amount on my finger and then dab it on and massage. That amount will cover your face completely. 5/5

Texture: Really fine exfoliating bits in the scrub, feels really nice and light on your skin, not at all heavy or scratchy. When you exfoliate with this, it is very light, as the bits in the scrub are not big, but due to this fact, you can use this scrub every day unlike some other harsher scrubs out there which you can only use a few times a week at most. Comes out a bit like toothpaste. 5/5

Oil-control: It IS oil free, but it doesn’t market itself as an oil-control product. I supposed this does take away any oil on my face at the moment, but I would not recommend solely for oil-control purposes. 4/5

Smell: Smells AMAZING. The green tea extract is really nice and airy, not musky or too much of a fragrance. Doesn’t leave much residue smell on skin after washing, but a little bit right after, which will wear away in quickly.

    Product claims: (on bottle)

    - Clears breakouts and soothes skin (1% salicylic acid): Yes, this product does indeed help with acne and pimples. The 1% salicylic acid may not be enough however for a person with more than light acne. You may need to purchase a different product with 2% salicylic acid instead. I have seen my redness also leave with most of my acne, I still however get the occasional pimple.

    - Hypoallergenic, oil free, non-comedogenic, dermatologist tested, formulated without parabens and phthalates: I do not have sensitive skin, therefore I can’t exactly comment on the hypoallergenic-ness, but many people have used it successfully with any backlash with sensitive skin. It is an oil-free product, and it is also non-comedogenic, which means it is not a product which will cause worsening of your acne by using this. This also says that it is dermatologist tested, and without parabens or phthalates; and though I cannot say for sure that these two things are true, it doesn’t list and parabens or phthalates in the ingredients list.

    - Use daily for best results: I would definitely recommend this to people who have a bit of redness in their skin and also who have the time to do this daily. If you are very busy, you may want to opt for another scrub like the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, which you only need two or three times a week. However, this is very non-intensive and therefore I can use it everyday. It does indeed keep my skin feeling soft and less red.

    Ending Comments:

I really do adore this scrub. This will definitely be a HG in my book, and I will repurchase. ANother pro is that a tube will last you a long time. I’ve had mine for at least two or so months, and it’s still probably half-full, and I use it every single day (sometimes even twice a day!). It is a very good bang for your buck. I highly recommend this product to those who need a scrub or is trying out new ones.
